What are ALPRs
Automated license plate readers (ALPRs or LPRs) are cameras that photograph and analyse every passing vehicle, recording its plate along with the location, date, and time. Many also log a vehicle's make, model, colour, and distinguishing features and turn them into searchable data points.
These systems collect data on millions of drivers regardless of whether anyone is suspected of a crime, and the records are frequently shared far beyond the community that installed them. WatchersEye documents where that infrastructure is and who operates it — nothing more.
Why a public map matters

Cameras are installed by police departments, businesses, and HOAs, often without public notice or a council vote.

Community survey data, procurement records, council minutes, and public-records releases — each with a link and a verification status.
